Size Guide
The Banned Clothes standard tee is the Bella+Canvas 3001 Unisex Jersey Short Sleeve Tee. It is a unisex retail fit, side-seamed, shoulder-to-shoulder taping and runs true to size. Because shirts are printed to order we can't exchange for size, so take a minute here before you order.
A few designs are printed on a different blank (including youth-sized tees, which run much smaller). The size chart under “Fabric & fit” on each product page is always the one that applies to that design.

Chest width is measured 1" below the armhole, across the front only. Double it for circumference. Tolerance ±1".
How to measure
- Length: lay a tee you like flat and measure from the highest point of the shoulder (next to the collar) straight down to the bottom hem.
- Chest: measure straight across the front from armpit seam to armpit seam.
- Compare: match both numbers to the chart above. If you're between sizes, go up for a relaxed fit or down for a closer fit.
Fit notes
- Unisex sizing. Women who usually wear a fitted tee often size down one.
- Side-seamed construction, so the shirt holds its shape better than tubular tees.
- Pre-shrunk fabric, but expect a little length shrinkage after the first wash. Wash cold and hang dry to keep it.
- For an oversized, streetwear fit, order one size up.
Sizing questions
- Do Banned Clothes shirts run big or small?
- They run true to size. The Bella+Canvas 3001 is a unisex retail fit: slimmer than a boxy Gildan, roomier than a fitted fashion tee. Most people take their usual t-shirt size.
- What size should I get for an oversized fit?
- Order one size up from your usual size. Two sizes up gives a true drop-shoulder, streetwear look but the sleeves will sit near the elbow.
- Will the shirt shrink?
- Expect up to about 3% shrinkage in length after the first cold wash and low tumble dry, which is roughly half an inch on a size L. Washing cold and hang-drying minimises it.
- How do I find my size from a shirt I already own?
- Lay a tee that fits well flat, measure from the highest point of the shoulder to the bottom hem for length and from armpit to armpit for chest width, then match to the chart.
